Kramer Chronicles-Blog Break

Hey, it's me, Kramer.
I'm in hiding right now and for good reason.
Take a look.
Yup, it's the dreaded bath time!
Look at Lizzy.
She looks like a drowned rat!
Oh yeah, like having dad smile with her for a picture will make her feel better.
I think not!
(granted my posting the picture online probably isn't helping with the humiliation-oh darn-you know I'm loving this!)
Just in case, I better get a little further away from the sink.

Now that's pathetic!
Like Calvin's crazy hair isn't bad enough dry!
Is anyone else noticing that all this dog bathing is taking place in the kitchen sink?
Makes you question whether or not you want to come over for dinner, doesn't it?
Ok, maybe I should move a little farther back.

Pitiful.
Need I say more?
Yup, I'm definately staying over here.

Actually, it's probably safer for me to get as far from the kitchen as possible.
Now that we've all had some laughs at the expense of the dogs' it's time to get down to mom's bloggy break.

Come a little closer.
Notice the books behind me (they really need a good dusting if you ask me, but I digress...)
On the subject of books,
my mom's novel is being published and she is now in the editting process.
Since she is spending so much time on the book she is going to take a short blogging break for a few weeks.
After all, the little bit of spare time she has needs to be spent with yours truly:).

Smile!
It's only a little break and then I'll be back!

Awwww, who am I kidding?
I'm going to miss you guys.
See ya soon.
Purrs and meows,
Kramer

Halloween Costumes!

Lizzy has been contemplating what to be for Halloween.

A zombie came to mind...

then again maybe Frankendog.

Dracula is a good choice.

Of course, Elvis might be better.
'Ain't nothing but a hound dog...'

Calvin was thinking about something a little more dramatic.
Perhaps Scarlett.

Then again Anna of Green Gables might be better.
Well obviously they have some decisions to make.
What do you think?

Fireball Run

Welcome to Frampton Plantation,
a circa 1868 plantation house.
It is currently the site of Lowcountry Tourism.
Behind the house is a notable historic site.
It sounds like someone is at the front door.
It's Miss Lynn in her latest period creation!
Why all this fuss?
Because the Fireball Run made a stop at Frampton Plantation as part of their race!
This gentleman provided security:).
Of course, it wouldn't be an event without a few more southern ladies.
Lynn, me, and Miss Brenda.
We all had a great time meeting such greats as racecar driver Jeff Bodine and astronaut Winston Scott.
Despite having a lot of fun we were worn out by the end of the day.
To learn more about Fireball Run visit their page on Facebook:).
Fireball Run is raising money for the missing children organization.

Kramer Chronicles-Falling into Fall Decor

Hey, it's me Kramer and I had to take over the computer again because my mom is too busy redecorating for fall.
Hmph, I really don't understand all of this seasonal stuff but here it is anyway.
Mom started with the mantel.
I guess she was in the mood to display her teapot collection.
This is mom's Crown Derby china collection.
Let me tell you it's pure talent getting from one window to the other without knocking something off.
Yup, the tea infatuation continued to the coffee table with a reproduction tea box and several slotted spoons most of which are for, what else, tea.
(don't know why it's called a coffee table in our house when everything is about tea).
Finally something besides tea stuff!
And silk flowers just for me...to chew:).
Kasey seems to be enjoying all of this chaos.
I think she's just pretending to like it to get on mom's good side and a treat.
Once mom moved to the spare bedroom Calvin joined in.
Granted if you were to come for a visit this is the room you would stay in.
Actually we have guests scheduled.
This hangs on the wall as you enter the spare bedroom.
Since it's been cooler lately
mom threw an extra dog on the bed.
Dresser in the spare bedroom.
Hmmm...I wonder where mom went.
I've been hiding behind these flowers so she doesn't redecorate me!
Uh oh, I think I hear her coming!
Whew, I got outta there just in time.
I'll just sit here in the window and nap until she's finished rearranging everything.
Until next time,
purrs and meows,
Kramer

Fan Club

Last Sunday Hubby and I visited the Charleston Museum.
I shared photos of the jewelry exhibit and traveling 'Threads of War' exhibit on my other blogspot
Being a 'fan' of all things Victorian I decided to post some of the fan collection from the museum.
Below is an antique advertising fan from 1888.
This fan was stunning.
More very fine fans.
The finely carved mother-of-pearl base of this fan shimmers.
This fan was as delicate as lace.
Another beauty.
The artwork on this fan is complimented with a beautiful gold embossed base.
I thought I would share some of the gorgeous hair combs that added that little extra pizzazz to a lady's hairstyle.
This beaded purse would have been the final sparkle to a lovely outfit.
I hope you enjoyed these antique treasures.
Be sure to visit the Thrifty Reenactor blogspot listed at the beginning of this post for more of the Charleston Museum exhibits.
